Z-SUITE 3.5: Zortrax releases new version of its slicing software

Polish 3D printer manufacturer Zortrax has released Z-SUITE 3.5, the latest version of its slicing software. The focus was on improvements for higher resilience and precision of 3D prints.

A key new feature is the “Outer Walls” function. This allows the number of outer contour walls to be increased, which boosts mechanical strength. This means that models with openings and for post-processing can be better reinforced. Dimensional accuracy also benefits, as the number of contours is constant across all layers. Overhangs and accuracy of fit are improved.

Three new internal patterns also expand the possibilities: “Triangular” for high compressive strength, “Gyroid” for all-round stable parts and “Concentric” for uniform support of cover layers, narrow elements and transparent filaments.

Finer walls and gaps are now dynamically filled by a single, but more heavily filled pathway. This prevents holes and reduces artifacts.

New options have been added for positioning the seam line: Manually on a defined point of the platform, hidden in inner corners of the model or placed on the sharpest outer edge. There are also smoother surfaces and reduced irregularities in overhangs and support material.

Finally, there are profiles for new materials such as 316L or 17-4PH stainless steel as well as PA6 or PCABS for the Zortrax Endureal. The software is compatible with the 3D printers Zortrax M200 Plus, Zortrax M300 Plus, Zortrax M300 Dual, Zortrax Inkspire 2 and Zortrax Endureal. The download is available here.
