With modelR a new kind of 3D design marketplace is about to launch. Featuring an integrated 3D printing system, it is targeted a non technical users to be able to benefit from this technology.
Developed by startup ThinkR, the platform allows for designers to upload their files and make them available to modelR users. Designers can choose to set a price for their models or make them available for free download. If a user selects a model it will be sent directly to their 3D printer, with the original STL file not being downloaded.
modelR will offer subscriptions for designers at € 10 per year, with them getting 70% profit of the models sold. Users can sign up for free and pay for each design they would like to 3D print. Additionally, there is always the possibility to upload or download models for free use.
ThinkR has launched an Indiegogo campaign to help bring their project to life. The funds will go towards the final stages of software development, tests, marketing, servers and an office for the team.
