ISO 9001 Certification for 3D Printing Company Aurora Labs

Australian 3D printing company Aurora Labs has received certification to the ISO 9001 quality management standard. An independent audit by the certification body ECAAS covered the areas of design, engineering and additive manufacturing of customized components.

ISO 9001 specifies the requirements for quality management systems. Certified companies can use it to prove that their products and services meet specified quality standards. According to CEO Peter Snowsill, the certification is an important step in expanding the AM Solutions business for large industrial customers.

He said the company is focusing on cost-efficient and supply chain-relieving manufacturing solutions for the target markets of energy, mining and defense. ISO 9001 certification is often a mandatory requirement for working with partners. Aurora Labs is now looking to expand its AM Solutions business with its in-house metal 3D printing technologies.

Initial pilot projects are already underway with oil company Saudi Aramco. The idea is to exchange information on the development of Aurora’s AL250 3D printer and its patented MCP multilayer printing technology. The AL250 is said to enable industrial volume production with its 1500-watt lasers and a robust design.

ISO certification confirms Aurora’s commitment to quality. By expanding its high-volume 3D printing capabilities, the company aims to open up new industrial applications.
