New construction robot from RIC Technology for 3D concrete printing

RIC Technology presented its new RIC-M1 PRO 3D concrete printer at the World of Concrete 2024 trade fair. According to the manufacturer, the compact robotic 3D printer is a cost-effective and time-saving answer to the global housing shortage.

According to RIC Technology, previous 3D concrete printing systems with gantry robots were barely able to fulfill their promise of accelerating the construction of affordable housing. Complex assembly and high labor costs would negate the cost and time savings.

The new RIC-M1 PRO is different: its compact, modular design enables easy transportation and quick assembly within a few hours. Thanks to the extended rail length of the robot, areas of up to 6.6 x 13 meters can now be printed. The maximum print height is 4.2 meters.

Another innovation is the integrated mixing pump system, which can now print concrete as well as mortar. According to RIC, the latter scores with higher strength and weather resistance for large, load-bearing structures. Mortar, on the other hand, is better suited to more delicate elements. This combination increases the flexibility and application possibilities of the printer.
