Since its foundation in 2015, WASP Med, a multidisciplinary team from WASP, has specialized in medical 3D printing. The group’s aim is to use innovative 3D printing technologies to reduce healthcare costs and make medical care more accessible to all. As part of the new Digital Orthopaedic Lab concept, WASP Med is bringing this vision to Exposanità, where it will present its advanced solutions.
At the Exposanità trade fair, WASP will present two industrial printers specifically designed for medical applications. The WASP 4070 FX is characterized by its high precision in processing flexible materials such as TPU, TPE and PP, which are frequently used in the medical industry. In addition, WASP will be presenting the WASP 60100 HDP, a large format printer that can print directly from thermoplastic pellets in high resolution and is suitable for both flexible and rigid materials.
Various applications realized with technologies from WASP’s industrial line will be on display:
- A 3D printed foot model developed by Procosil, printed with the Delta WASP 4070 PRO and Delta WASP 2040 using AlfaPro from FiloAlfa (PLA) and Filaflex 95A from Recreus (TPU).
- A modular posture unit “Koala” by Barbieri Spa – Progettiamo Autonomia, printed with the WASP 4070 ZX in PETG.
- An anti-gravity orthosis by Ortopedia 3D, developed by Dott. Martina Leoncini and Dott. Francesco Ciriello, printed with the WASP 4070 FX in medically certified PP.
- A leg orthosis by Ortopedia Pessina, printed with the WASP 4070 FX in PP.
- An orthopaedic seat from WASP, produced with the WASP 60100 HDP in TPE.
- Transtibial socket printed with WASP 4070 ZX in Nylon Carbon.
WASP is looking forward to welcoming visitors at Exposanità 2024 in Bologna, Hall 21 – Stand C78, and presenting the latest advances and applications in the field of medical 3D printing.
