WASP presents the future of 3D printing technology at MECSPE 2024

WASP, a veteran in FFF and FGF 3D printing technologies, is using the MECSPE 2024 platform to showcase its comprehensive range of Delta industrial printers. This includes several proprietary systems as well as a preview of a breakthrough technology that could redefine the FGF 3D printing world.

The HDP product family is an advanced line of large-format 3D printers that can print directly from pellets in high resolution. This technology has applications in industries ranging from automotive to furniture and design production and promises to increase productivity and creativity. Since its introduction over nine years ago as the first commercial FGF 3D printer line, the HDP family has continued to evolve, including the introduction of the FIRECAP heating chamber system and vacuum build plate system, which ensure excellent adhesion and print quality when using technically challenging materials.

Printing directly from plastic pellets allows access to a wide range of technical and recycled materials. WASP’s Open Materials Program allows companies and individuals to test their own materials on the 3D printers, supported by WASP’s technical team. The new WASP 4070 HDP, WASP 60100 HDP and WASP 3MT HDP models represent a reduction in material costs and an expansion of printing possibilities.

A highlight of MECSPE 2024 will be the introduction of the latest evolution of the HDP extruder, a patented extrusion technology that enables large-format 3D printing directly from shredded plastics, eliminating the need for the repelletization process. This advancement in additive manufacturing significantly expands the range of printable materials and promotes the creation of a closed loop for the collection, recycling and rebirth of any plastic material.

For precision printing with technical materials in the engineering, automotive and medical industries, WASP presents the WASP 4070 ZX and WASP 4070 FX large format FFF printers, specifically designed for printing robust and reinforced materials such as carbon fiber. The WASP 4070 ZX with its ZENX dual extruder and the WASP 4070 FX, suitable for the production of orthoses and medical implants as well as wearable technology, underline WASP’s versatility and innovative strength in the 3D printing sector.
