Würth Additive Group CEO joins 3D printing task force for auto repair

Würth Additive Group CEO AJ Strandquist will be part of the internationally recognized Taskforce on 3D Printing in Auto Repair. The groundbreaking announcement was made recently at the International Bodyshop Industry Symposium (IBIS) Global Summit 2023 in Milan, Italy.

In April 2023, IBIS Worldwide announced the formation of an industry-first Taskforce for 3D Printing in Auto Repair at the IBIS USA 2023 technical conference in Nashville, Tennessee. It will be led by Harold Sears, an automotive industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, including leading Ford Motor’s 3D printing solutions for more than two decades.

The strategic partnership aims to drive innovation and facilitate the integration of 3D printing technology into the automotive repair industry. The collaboration is ultimately intended to improve repair processes and enable the use of 3D-printed parts through Würth’s advanced digital inventory management program, DIS3DP.

3D printing technology enables repair professionals to produce complex parts on demand, reducing lead times and improving repair accuracy. 3D-printed parts can minimize waste, optimize inventory management and contribute to a more sustainable automotive repair ecosystem.
