YouTuber 3D prints fully functional toilet

Emily the Engineer, an American YouTuber, has taken on an unusual challenge: She wanted to create a life-size toilet using a 3D printer. The YouTuber is known for her unusual 3D printing projects.

Out of interest, Emily started trying to model a complete toilet and then print it out in individual parts. However, she quickly reached the limits of what was possible. Numerous prints failed or turned out to be leak-proof. Using special sealants and targeted fusing of the plastic parts, she finally succeeded in producing an almost fully functional model that could actually be filled with water and flushed.

The YouTuber then concentrated entirely on expanding the gadget. True to the motto “Go big or go home”, she integrated additional features such as a toilet paper holder, drink holder and a charging station for the cell phone. The highlight was four mounted castors that allowed the cumbersome construction to be moved around the room like a wheelchair.

Emily herself now humorously refers to the end result, made from around 30 kilograms of plastic, as the “ultimate toilet”.
