YouTuber builds remote-controlled model boat with 3D printing

YouTuber “Max Imagination” has shown in a new video how to build a remote-controlled model boat yourself using 3D printing. The project is based on a freely available 3D model of a boat hull with jet propulsion, which has been adapted and expanded by the YouTuber.

All the individual parts required for the boat, such as the hull, canopy and drive, were modeled accordingly in 3D and then printed. The propulsion is provided by a brush motor and a jet consisting of 3D-printed parts. The boat is controlled by a remote control.

According to the YouTuber, the boat is perfect for shallow waters and high speeds thanks to its shallow draft and powerful jet propulsion. In initial practical tests on a lake, the hull boat proved to be correspondingly agile and fast.

The YouTuber cites the use of more powerful engines and better sealing as tips for improvement. The 3D model of the boat hull can be downloaded free of charge from Cult3D.
