Bambu Lab lowers price for entry-level 3D printer A1 mini

Bambu Lab has announced a price reduction for its entry-level A1 mini 3D printer. At the same time, a firmware update brings new useful functions.

The two configurations of the compact A1 mini FDM 3D printer have dropped significantly in price. The basic version now costs 269 euros instead of the previous 319 euros. The combined offer including the AMS Lite module for multi-color printing has fallen from 489 euros to 429 euros.

The new firmware update also gives the 3D printer some practical new functions. The “Air Printing Detection” recognizes problems with the filament supply and pauses printing if necessary. This saves users from wasting filament unnecessarily. Build Plate Detection” checks whether the build plate is inserted correctly before printing begins – a sensible safety measure to prevent damage to the printer.

The new firmware also monitors possible filament build-up on the nozzle and triggers a cleaning process if necessary. Advanced users will particularly appreciate the remote control for the micro SD card. Print jobs and videos can now be managed directly on the card in the printer using the Bambu Studio software.

The printer can be ordered from the official store.
