EOS, technology supplier in the field of industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers, is expanding its Academia program and therefore collaborates with Sintratec. The Academia program promotes powder-based 3D printing at universities and research institutions. In the framework of the program EOS is offering ten Sintratec Kits as prizes in a draw for various research institutes. The two companies are coming together to invest in the future of high-quality additive manufacturing.
Brugg, September 2017 – Depending on requirements, the current EOS Academia program offers suitable ways of quickly entering the world of Additive Manufacturing. EOS will draw 10 winners of a Sintratec Kit from all registrations for the program received by October 20, 2017.
The Sintratec kit is the ideal entry point into the world of laser sintering, thanks to its modular system. Users can get to know SLS technology as they put the device together, and can also adapt it to their field of research. The kit is also ideally for manufacturing functional prototypes that can in turn be used for research purposes.
The Sintratec kit will be offered as part of the “Freshman” package in the EOS Academia program. This is aimed at institutions that want to learn the basics of 3D printing and pass this on to their students in practice. For more advanced institutions that are already working with SLS technology at a professional level and want to teach this technology, EOS offers the “Graduate” Academia package, which equips research institutes with the Sintratec S1, the professional ready-to-print system offered by Sintratec. The Academia program is complemented by the “Scientist” package. This is suitable for institutions that want to make full use of the potential of industrial 3D printing for research and teaching purpose, and includes selected EOS laser sintering systems.

The Academia program, with the idea of equipping researchers and academics with professional 3D printers, has been running for more than 20 years. To date, more than 300 EOS systems have been put into operation around the world. With the extension of the program and the introduction of Academia packages, machines from Sintratec and other training options, such as webinars, training courses, and further education options, have now been added.
