Kaedim raises 15 million US dollars for AI-based 3D model creation

3D modeling solutions startup Kaedim has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round. The company recently launched a new AI-powered marketplace with 10,000 pre-built 3D assets and plans to use the funds to expand its platform and grow its team and market share.

The round was led by a16z Games, with Pioneer Fund also participating. Other investors include Scott Gelb (former president of games at Riot Games), Nate Mitchell (co-founder of Oculus), Eden Chen (CEO of Pragma) and Siqi Chen (CEO of Runway).

Kaedim has launched new solutions to make it easier for creatives to create 3D assets. The aim is to provide a comprehensive set of tools that support the work of artists rather than replace it. This includes a 3D workflow solution for integration into existing programs such as Unreal and Blender.

“Over the last five years, we have seen massive growth in 3D technologies in various markets such as e-commerce, gaming, 3D printing, AR/VR and more,” explained Konstantina Psoma, CEO of Kaedim. “We are enabling the next phase of 3D content creation, similar to what DALL-E has done for 2D images and concept art.”
