LOTMAXX announces multifunction 3D printer with laser cutter function

The Chinese company LOTMAXX has announced the ET model, a new type of 3D printer that can also be used as a laser cutter. According to the manufacturer, the core component is a fast direct extruder, which is said to enable printing speeds of up to 500 mm/s.

The LOTMAXX ET has an all-metal housing and a print volume of 250 x 250 x 265 mm. As a special feature, the print head can, according to the announcement, be easily replaced with a laser head with 20 watts of power. This means that the ET can also be used for engraving and cutting in addition to printing.

LOTMAXX promises high speed thanks to a direct extruder and accelerated filament transport. A camera system should also enable the printing process to be monitored in real time. An app control system is also on board.

Thanks to automatic levelling of the print bed and precise linear guidance, LOTMAXX aims to offer high accuracy even at high speeds. The maximum print speed is specified as 500 mm/s with a positioning accuracy of 0.1 mm.

The ET will soon be launched on the market via a Kickstarter campaign. The planned early bird price is 299 US dollars.
