Peopoly Magneto X: 3D printer with high speed for under 1400 US dollars

3D printer manufacturer Peopoly has unveiled the Magneto X, a new type of desktop 3D printer. The device is said to enable unprecedented precision and speed in FFF thanks to a magnetic linear motor system.

Instead of the usual toothed belts, the Magneto X uses a linear motor system known as MagXY, according to the manufacturer. This operates without contact and achieves an extremely high repeatability of just 3 micrometers. At the same time, this eliminates problems such as vibrations, which can otherwise reduce print quality.

In contrast to conventional stepper motors, positional accuracy is also maintained under load thanks to closed-loop control circuits with position feedback. Peopoly promises print speeds of up to 1200 mm/s as well as accelerations of 22,000 mm^2/s.

This is supported by a powerful extruder called Lancer, which enables a high flow rate of 60 mm3/s. Sensors continuously monitor factors such as filament residual. A non-contact 48-point mesh scan is used for precise leveling.

For installation space, the Magneto X offers 400 x 300 x 300 mm. Materials such as PLA, PETG, ABS and nylon carbon fiber are said to be processable. A touchscreen interface, camera and extensive connectivity round out the feature set.

Peopoly says the 3D printer achieves unprecedented performance in the desktop segment. Pre-orders are available starting at 1399 US dollars, and delivery is scheduled to start in November. Professionals and ambitious hobbyists will be eagerly awaiting the first practical tests of the Magneto X.
