The Dutch start-up Pixelstone announces their 3D printer that uses small bricks as material – with this method it should be easier to create living structures. Now, they just have unveiled a scaled version to demonstrate their technique.
There are different approaches to create buildings with the help of 3D printers, but Pixelstone uses a new one: the printer uses prebuild bricks (which are also called pixels). Because of the use of different coloured bricks it is even possible to create different designs. The start-up announced that their printer uses up to 90% less energy than the printers that are available today.
Pixel Stones are cube-like brick particles of 1 cm. Because they are so small, they are quickly fried, and that saves a lot of energy
In the next two years they want to sell their printer. If you are interested to be part of the team or become a partner, you can access information through their website.
