Sovol SV07: Fast 3D printer with large build volume

The Chinese manufacturer Sovol has presented the SV07, a new 3D printer for the upper consumer segment. The printer scores with a build volume of 220 x 220 x 250 mm and high printing speeds.

Sovol is known for low-cost 3D printers. The Sovol SV06 is one of the most popular 3D printers on the market. Now Sovol has introduced a successor, the SV07, which boasts high printing speeds. According to Sovol, the SV07 achieves print speeds of up to 500 mm/s thanks to the Klipper firmware used. For optimum printing results, however, the manufacturer recommends 250 mm/s rather.

The SV07 can print at temperatures of up to 300°C. According to Sovol, this is made possible by the use of an all-metal hotend. A large fan cools down the prints quickly and ensures good layering quality. This means that materials such as ABS, nylon or carbon fiber can also be processed without any problems.

The print head is driven by an in-house developed direct drive with dual gears. This ensures precise extrusion even at high speeds. An external key is provided for easy filament tracking.

The SV07’s pressure plate features 25-point autoleveling with inductive sensors. According to the manufacturer, this should also allow precise compensation for unevenness, for optimum first-layer quality.

Other features include a tool drawer, status LEDs and a large color touchscreen. The built-in 32-bit mainboard and the 350W power supply are supposed to ensure quiet operation and reliability.

Likewise, the Plus variant of the Sovol SV07 has also already been released. Besides the high speed, the device has an installation space of 300 x 300 x 350 mm.
