Ultimaker 3D Prints Trumpet During Delivery by Dutch Post

3D printing expert Joris van Tubergen wanted to know wether it was possible to ship a 3D printer while it is printing.

When the Dutch postal service PostNL said it would actually be possible, van Tubergen accepted the challenge and send off an Ultimaker 2 3D printing a trumpet to Eric Voleimans, the best trumpet player in the Netherlands.

While the 3D printing process had not been impacted during delivery, as you can see in the video below, Tubergen was also extremely impressed by the sound that came out of the 3D printed trumped: “The sound is so incredible that many people don’t believe it is the real sound from the 3D printed trumpet”, he said.
