YouTuber 3D prints parts for small robot car with camera

In the DIY and Maker scene, impressive projects are implemented time and again that impressively demonstrate the possibilities of 3D printing. This is also the case with the latest work presented on the YouTube channel “The Wrench“. In one of his videos, the YouTuber shows how a 3D printer, some electronics and the right amount of creativity can be used to build a remote-controlled mini-car.

Equipped with a Xiao ESP32 S3 board, drives, motor control and LiPo battery, he managed to construct a tiny vehicle that can be controlled via smartphone and whose camera image can be viewed live on the display. After producing the body parts using 3D printing, he painstakingly assembled the electronic components and established a WLAN connection to the smartphone.

Via a WLAN connection, he is now able to steer the small vehicle and call up the live recordings from the integrated camera. The result is a fully functional mini-car that can be controlled precisely and in real time via app. Projects like this impressively demonstrate the possibilities that 3D printing opens up for ambitious hobbyists.

On Thingiverse, you can download all the 3D models you need for the 3D-printed parts free of charge.
