3D-printed extension for iPhone 15 Pro improves video recording

Filmmakers Michael Tobin and Cliff Curtis have developed an interesting add-on for the iPhone 15 Pro using 3D printing. This is an iPhone mount for an SSD drive.

Apple recently unveiled its new iPhone. Among the smartphone’s features is an improved video function and the ability to have videos backed up to an external storage medium. The filmmakers have therefore developed “SSD Grip”. This mount makes it easy to attach an SSD drive to the iPhone.

According to the developers, the design has been improved in several steps. There are openings for ports and an ergonomic grip. Screws allow it to be attached to a tripod or accessories such as microphones.

The SSD Grip is 3D printed and available in green and black. It is aimed specifically at iPhone 15 Pro users who want to use the smartphone for video purposes. With the help of the mount, the phone can be used like a professional video camera, opening up new creative possibilities.

The expansion costs $49.95 and can be ordered here.
