3D Printed Eyewear Collection MORGENROT Wins Innovation Award

The 3D printed collection of MORGENROT EYEWEAR won the 2014 SILMO D’OR award in the category frame technological innovation.

The laser sintered MORGENROT collection was presented at the SILMO in Paris for the first time. Customers can alter the design by interchangeable clip-ons, that allow for parts of the frame and lenses to be switched.

The independent eyewear designer and developer Joachim Bischoff, who has been in the business for over 30 years, was drawn to the new technology of selective laser sintering and recognised its potential for individual eyewear design. His patented mounting systems allows for a simple and secure connection of the titanium temple stem with the front made of polyamide. Despite the stable structure, the weight of the innovative eyewear is still very light and therefor guarantees best wearing comfort.

The collection will be available early 2015 at selected optical stores worldwide.
