After several public pre-releases, the Czech 3D printer manufacturer has now released the final version of PrusaSlicer 2.7.0. According to the manufacturer, one of the most exciting innovations in the PrusaSlicer software is the ability to embed SVG files in 3D models.
Previously, this required time-consuming CAD work. From version 2.7.0, SVG graphics can now be easily imported, imprinted as a relief on the surface of a 3D model and even wrapped around shapes. According to the company, this considerably expands the design possibilities of the slicing software.
Another new feature is the option to export the G-code in an even more space-saving way. In combination with the new binary G-code format, file sizes can be reduced by over 70 percent. This speeds up transfers to printer control and saves memory space.
Other new features include a dedicated G-code editor, the improved option to cancel individual models during printing, user interface adjustments and a Prusa Connect connection for the MINI printer.
All updates can be found in the changelog. The software is available free of charge for Windows, Mac and Linux.
