3D printing software OrcaSlicer released in version 1.9

The free 3D printing slicing software OrcaSlicer has been released in a new version 1.9. Among other things, it brings an improved spiral vase printing process.

As already seen in the beta and alpha version, there are a number of new functions. The new spiral vase mode should be emphasized. As well as an improved seam quality of 3D printed models. By optimizing the flow of the outer contours (“wipe”), the visible transitions can be reduced, which improves the appearance. OrcaSlicer 1.9 also implements “Measure & Cut” gizmos from PrusaSlicer and an emboss function. Furthermore, the option to reverse only inner contours has been added to reduce warping of parts.

All functions can be found in the release note of the alpha, beta and final version.

With the new version, OrcaSlicer underlines its status as a serious alternative to the top dogs among the slicing apps. Thanks to the lively community, the software benefits from constant innovation. OrcaSlicer is open source software and is based on Bambu Studio from Bambu Lab. Bambu Studio is in turn based on PrusaSlicer, which is based on the open source solution Slic3r.

OrcaSlicer can be downloaded here free of charge.
