CAD Exchanger announces the Release of CAD Exchanger 3.22.0

CAD Exchanger is a software suite for 3D CAD software developers and end users to view, explore and convert 3D CAD data on desktop, web and mobile.

A key point of the update focuses on providing Docker images that include pre-configured environments for C++, C#, Java and Python. This allows users to easily set up and run the CAD Exchanger SDK in their preferred environment. This saves time and effort that would otherwise be spent on manual setup and configuration. This feature is currently available on demand, with technical support providing links and detailed instructions.

Furthermore, support for importing Autodesk Inventor 2022 has been introduced, with all basic data – including B-rep geometry, colors, names and assembly structure – retained. An exciting feature of the new version is Model States, where currently data can only be imported for an active configuration. Stability when importing models with Model States may vary.

Another focus was on extending the API (Application Programming Interface) of the CAD Exchanger to control the consumption of imports and exports during the test phase. For example, users who have exceeded the usage limit of the evaluation license now receive a notification indicating the need for a purchase.

The import functionality regarding properties from CATIA files has also been improved, allowing product and mechanical properties to be imported effortlessly. In addition, it is now possible to add your own custom properties to modify the data according to specific needs.

Finally, the CAD Exchanger team has prioritized improvements in the area of MCAD file formats, and in addition to the previously mentioned updates, adjustments and fixes have also been made for 3D PDF, DXF, DWG, glTF, NX, SOLIDWORKS and STEP.
