DMG Mori May Produce Hybrid Parts For The Porsche 919 Hybrid

The German-Japanese manufacturer, DMG Mori signed an advertising contract with Porsche´s WEC racing team.

Porsche´s World Endurance Championship (WEC) racing team can welcome a new exclusive partner after their comeback in 2014, following 16 years of abstinence.

DMG Mori relesed a hybrid manufacturing machine called the Lasertec 65 3D. This machine uses a 2000 Watt laser diode to weld metal powder. This technique is called Laser Deposition Welding (LDW). The Lasertec 65 3D combines the LDW with a 5-axis mill.

Maybe the know-how and hybrid machines will also benefit the Porsche 919 Hybrid race car.
