Figuro: Free online 3D modeling in the browser

Figuro 3D Designer is a free online software for creating 3D models. According to the provider, the tool is suitable for beginners and advanced users alike and covers applications such as 3D printing, game development or architecture.

In contrast to many other 3D programs, Figuro focuses on a particularly user-friendly operation. Thus, even beginners should be able to quickly find their way around and create their own models. At the same time, the software also offers functions for advanced users.

Since Figuro runs completely in the browser, no installation is necessary. The creation of 3D models is completely free of charge. Without registration, the models can be exported in STL or OBJ format. However, there is an option for registration. With an account, designs can also be saved.

Figuro’s roots go back to the 2000s. Back then, Jeroen Commandeur and Paul-Jan Pauptit jointly developed the desktop software DeleD for 3D modeling. Despite a small but active user community, further development of DeleD was gradually discontinued due to the rise of powerful modeling apps like 3Ds Max and Maya.

Now, many years later, a new online solution for 3D modeling, Figuro, is set to emerge, taking advantage of the Web’s advances in graphics and performance. So the developers of DeleD are working together again to create a modern browser alternative to established tools.
