Flashforge Adventurer 5M: 3D printer entry-level model with versatile functions

Flashforge’s Adventurer 5M is an interesting 3D printer for beginners. The Chinese manufacturer is known for its affordable and user-friendly 3D printers.

At a price of just under 400 euros, the Adventurer 5M has a good range of features. These include automatic leveling, interchangeable nozzles and a heated platform. The cloud connection is useful and the installation space of 220 x 220 x 220 mm is sufficiently large. The maximum extruder temperature is 280 degrees Celsius.

The maximum printing speed is 600mm/s, the acceleration speed 20000mm/s². In addition to the standard material PLA, PETG, TPU, carbon fiber-reinforced PLA and PETG can be used as an option. A filament monitoring system stops 3D printing in the event of a material shortage.

The fully automatic levelling system compensates for height differences in the heated PEI printing plate and is designed to ensure precise first layers. The flexible magnetic plate can be removed after printing for easy removal of the models.

The open design with aluminum profiles and a kinematically coupled wire drive system is said to offer high precision and stability. A safety switch stops operation when the door is opened.

It is operated via a 4.3-inch touch display and Flashprint 5 software, which simplifies the preparation of print jobs and monitoring via WLAN or Ethernet. In the event of a power failure, printing can be continued from the last position.

The 3D printer can be purchased in the official store and from specialist retailers for around 400 euros.
