Gefertec introduces new Arc80x WAAM 3D printing platform for large components

The German 3D printer manufacturer Gefertec presents the Arc80x, a machine based on WAAM technology. The Arc80x combines innovative technology with efficiency in a significantly larger machine format than the previous ARC 603 and 605 models.

Wire arc build-up welding (WAAM) offers decisive advantages as an alternative to conventional manufacturing: Due to the layered material structure, significantly less material is consumed and at the same time a high degree of freedom of form in component design is achieved.

The core of the Arc80x is its modular design, which allows the system to be precisely adapted to the customer’s requirements – from the more affordable basic entry level to the fully equipped version. In addition to cost efficiency through savings on tools and shorter throughput times, the WAAM process impresses with the flexible use of a wide range of metals and alloys.
