Hexagon launches Suite for Scalable Industrial 3D Printing

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is setting new standards in the field of additive manufacturing with the launch of the new HxGN Additive Manufacturing Suite. The suite, which is based on Hexagon’s many years of expertise in the AM industry, bundles four software tools into a coherent solution. It is designed to help manufacturers scale additive manufacturing processes reliably and efficiently.

DESIGNER, Hexagon’s CAD solution, enables the efficient design and preparation of CAD models. AM STUDIO supports build preparation for powder bed fusion printers and is characterized by highly efficient support structures as well as first-class slicing and hatching. Simufact Additive optimizes workflows and printing strategies, ensuring fast cost estimation and identification of manufacturing issues. ESPRIT EDGE from Hexagon completes the offering and ensures precise CNC post-processing of AM metal parts using artificial intelligence and digital twin technology.

The HxGN Suite addresses industry challenges by eliminating the need for multiple, often incompatible tools. It offers a vendor-neutral, machine-independent solution that harmonizes with all common CAD systems and eliminates the need to purchase numerous specific tools.

Chuck Mathews, general manager, production software at Hexagon said: “Additive manufacturing is a technology at the edge of industrial adoption, ready to be scaled up and used to produce high quality parts for critical applications in a range of industries. This new suite provides the capabilities and tools for manufacturers to increase the use of additive technologies via streamlined workflows that deliver efficiency, scalability and reliability to the AM process. Manufacturers can now build on time, on budget and at increased scale with AM thanks to Hexagon’s Additive Manufacturing Suite.”

Parth Joshi, chief product and technology officer at Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division, said: “The demand to scale additive manufacturing is there, but manufacturers need to be able to automate time-intensive processes and optimise production virtually before building any parts. This new suite complements Hexagon’s extensive additive manufacturing portfolio perfectly, and support for other AM technologies will be added in the future as we continue to empower operational excellence in AM across industries from medical to aerospace and beyond.”

The suite is now available worldwide and will be presented at the Formnext trade fair. It symbolizes Hexagon’s commitment to promoting operational excellence in additive manufacturing across industries and accelerating the implementation of innovations.
