Renishaw presents its new RenAM 500 Ultra metal 3D printer

Manufacturer Renishaw has expanded its RenAM 500 series with the launch of the RenAM 500 Ultra AM system at Formnext 2023. The RenAM 500 Ultra system includes all the benefits of the RenAM 500 series plus the newly introduced productivity-enhancing TEMPUS technology and advanced process monitoring software.

TEMPUS technology includes new scanning algorithms that allow the laser to operate while the coater is moving, saving up to nine seconds per production shift. In addition, the RenAM 500 Ultra’s advanced process monitoring software provides detailed insights into the manufacturing process by providing users with data and transparency into the process.

The RenAM 500 Ultra metal AM system is the latest model in the RenAM 500 range, which also includes the Flex system optimized for R&D work and the top-of-the-range closed powder recirculation model for series production. The entire RenAM 500 range is available with one (500S) or four (500Q) high power lasers, all with simultaneous access to the entire powder bed. The RenAM 500Q Ultra and RenAM 500S Ultra are available to order now.

“Ultra is the most productive system in Renishaw’s current product range,” explains Louise Callanan, Director of Additive Manufacturing at Renishaw. “We have developed it for AM users who are looking for large scale production at the lowest cost per part.”

“The RenAM 500 Ultra system produces exactly the same high part quality you’d expect from the entire RenAM 500 series, but twice as fast,” adds Callanan. “We are excited to bring this new model to market as we believe that increasing productivity and lowering the cost per part will allow for greater adoption of AM in the industry.”
