A few days ago, we reported that the first beta version of the popular slicing program OrcaSlicer 2.0 had been released. Now the developers have published a so-called Release Candidate (RC). This is the final version of the software, but it is still undergoing further testing.
OrcaSlicer V2.0.0 RC contains all the functions of the beta version as well as some bug fixes. One highlight is the “Scarf Joint Seam” function. This is an innovative approach to making seam marks almost invisible during FDM printing. Another new feature is the so-called “Small Area Flow Compensation”. This function is designed to prevent oversizing in small areas by reducing the material flow. Improved gap filling thanks to a new application strategy and direct support for adaptive bed measurement via G-code commands from various firmware solutions also ensure better print quality.
The 3D Honeycomb Infill function has been revised in the RC version. Small improvements and bugs have also been fixed. All changes and the download can be found directly on GitHub.
