Swiss AM Expo is on track

The first AM Expo will be held at Messe Luzern from 20 to 21 September 2016. The trade fair focuses exclusively on additive manufacturing in serial production. It provides illustrative examples of what can be achieved with additive manufacturing today. The programme and visitor registration facilities are now available online.

Around 70 exhibitors will present their expert knowledge of additive manufacturing in serial production at the AM Expo. They will demonstrate the difference between hype and reality in step with actual practice and provide a knowledge transfer for visitors. Whether beginner or professional in the field of additive manufacturing, the AM Expo provides competent answers to the central questions on additive manufacturing in alignment with the different sales markets such as electronics, industry, medicine, micro-technology and mobility.

Showcases: experience the AM Expo online now
Exhibitors at the AM Expo will present various components that they have developed on behalf of their customers. From these concrete application examples, visitors learn how they can make profitable use of different methods of additive manufacturing. More than 50 showcases described in detail are now in the Showcase Finder on the AMX website. They allow visitors to gather advance information on the applications of interest to them and plan an efficient visit to the trade fair.

Showcase Forum in the hall
Exhibitors will present their concrete application examples to interested visitors in the Showcase Forum. Selected examples from the fields of tool making, industry, mechanical engineering, lifestyle, med-tech and aerospace will be on display.

Knowledge transfer at the Symposium and Beginners’ Meeting
Knowledge transfer is an important aspect of the AM Expo. The corresponding programme was designed to be of benefit to both beginners and advanced users of additive manufacturing.

AM Beginners’ Meeting
This is where beginners learn how they can use additive manufacturing to create added value for their companies. For one hour, experts will provide answers to the four pivotal questions on additive manufacturing: Why? What? How? With what technology? The AM Beginners’ Meeting will take place on both trade fair days at 9.30 a.m. and is the ideal starting point for a subsequent visit to the trade fair.

AMX Symposium for advanced users
At the Symposium, exhibitors will present their implemented projects with regard to “Best Practice” and researchers will show the latest developments and approaches for implementing additive serial production. The focus will be on a direct exchange with experts from industry and research. The AMX Symposium will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Gerd Witt of Duisburg-Essen University and Adriaan Spierings of inspire AG.

AMX Night: premieres and network
The first AM report will be presented during the AMX Night on Tuesday 20 September 2016. It will portrait the 15 most innovative showcases and thus the innovative power of additive manufacturing. The report in the form of a book is intended to inspire companies with regard to how they can make use of additive manufacturing. Awards will be presented to the three best showcases during the evening. The launch of the “AM Network” will be another highlight of the AMX Night. The Commission for Technology and Innovation CTI has incorporated the network for additive manufacturing in its promotion programme and will support and promote additive manufacturing technologies in the future.
