WAAM3D announces New Version of its 3D Printing Software WAAMCtrl

WAAM3D announced the launch of its WAAMCtrl software v2 at TCT 3Sixty in Birmingham.

It uses 60 sensors from the RoboWAAM to monitor and control the process, providing operators with audit-proof data storage, quality logs and regulatory compliance.

Key features of WAAMCtrl include process monitoring, database logging of all key process parameter data, real-time rendering of 3D maps of recorded data, and the ability to integrate with ERP and MRP systems via API.

WAAMCtrl v2 introduces support for the latest WAAM3D processes, new materials and support for in-process forging. It also improves closed-loop control for automatic wire positioning and in-process layer height measurement.

Jialuo Ding, Chief Technology Officer and one of the founders of WAAM3D, comments: “We are very pleased to be able to offer the v2 release of our signature WAAMCtrl software. WAAMCtrl serves as more than just a digital platform for collecting comprehensive process and system data for quality control purposes. It also offers a high level of process control and assists users in confidently utilising the RoboWAAAM system.”

The development of WAAMCtrl v2 was funded by Innovate UK as part of the HPWAAM project to the tune of £1.2 million.
