YouTuber shows 3D printing of a 3D model created by a free AI

The AI software CSM makes it possible to generate highly detailed 3D models from ordinary 2D images, which can then be 3D printed directly. YouTuber ArchiTECH demonstrates this in a new video.

According to ArchiTECH, simple images are sufficient input for the AI to calculate accurate 3D versions. The software analyzes the image information and first creates models of the objects from different perspectives. The models can then be refined in several stages until the desired level of detail is achieved.

As the YouTuber shows in his video, some of the results are astonishingly good. Even sculptures and other complex objects are modeled amazingly faithfully by the AI software. The STL files can then be imported into standard slicer programs as normal and prepared for 3D printing.

According to ArchiTECH, CSM is particularly suitable for flat objects such as sculptures or architectural details, as the initial image already provides all the necessary information. However, the software quickly reaches its limits with more complex structures such as vehicles.
