Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Bright Laser Technologies (BLT) is expanding its portfolio with the BLT-S800, a metal 3D printer with an especially large installation space and 20 lasers. According to the company, this enables the system to achieve significantly higher productivity.
With a build envelope of 800 x 800 x 600 millimeters, the BLT-S800 is one of the largest metal 3D printers on the market. Unlike many competitor models, it has 20 lasers installed, which can work in parallel. This significantly shortens build times.
According to BLT, dozens of these 20-laser printers are already being used in series production. Thanks to sophisticated systems for optimizing the air flow, the lasers work precisely and without contamination. An integrated powder recirculation system also enables cost savings on materials.
A special feature is the in-house BLT-BP software, with which even large-volume parts can be prepared within a short time. Dynamic powder application strategies also always optimally adapt the parameters to the geometry. According to the manufacturer, this brings 30 percent higher efficiency.
The BLT-S800 can work with titanium alloys, aluminum, stainless steel and other metals. The supplier sees areas of application in aerospace, engine construction, medical technology and other high-tech industries. The combination of large installation space and high productivity should make 3D printing even more attractive for series production.
