The open source software MeshLab allows for display, processing and repair of polygon meshes of 3D models.
MeshLab, a software originally developed by the university of Pisa, is now being enhanced by the two italian institutes ISTI and CNR. The software allows for processing and repair of polygon meshes arising in 3D scanning. MeshLab offers multiple tools for editing, cleaning, converting and rendering of meshes.
Following data formats can be imported/exported:
- import: PLY, STL, OFF, OBJ, 3DS, COLLADA, PTX, V3D, PTS, APTS, XYZ, GTS, TRI, ASC, X3D, X3DV, VRML, ALN
- export: PLY, STL, OFF, OBJ, 3DS, COLLADA, VRML, DXF, GTS, U3D, IDTF, X3D
The free software is available for Windows, MacOSX, Linux and in a downgraded version for iOS and Android.
