3D model platform Printables gets premium section

Printables is a 3D model platform from the manufacturer Prusa Research. In recent months, the portal has become the second largest site in this field. Now the team has announced a new feature for premium models.

Printables is now the 2nd most visited database for 3D printable models. The portal records 2 million visitors per month and 750 models are uploaded daily. According to analytics service SimilarWeb, only UltiMakers Thingiverse is more visited.

Now Printables has announced a new feature to help designers offer 3D models for a fee. Similar to the services Patreonsollen users in the future will be able to subscribe to individual designers. Designers can determine prices and also the offer on their own. This means that subscribers will be able to access exclusive content from the designers.

Currently, the service is still in a closed beta version. Prusa plans to retain a commission of 10%. Payment can be made via credit card and Paypal. In principle, however, the portal remains free of charge.
